Separating in Barrie? How One Mom Kept the House for Her Kids After the Bank Said No
This short video is about a mom who was separating and was sure she’d have to move. Here’s what the video covers.
Her starting point
She was a stay-at-home mom, and the banks had already said no. She wanted her kids to stay at the same school, and she assumed that meant finding something to rent or buy nearby.
What we looked at
Instead of starting with the no, we looked at what she actually had coming in: child support, the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) and ODSP. We also looked at the equity in the house. Put together properly, that picture found a way for her to stay in the home.
If you’ve been told you have to sell
If you’re separating in Barrie, Simcoe County or anywhere in Ontario and someone has told you the house has to go, let’s look at the file before you decide. Keeping the house won’t work for everyone, but you deserve a real answer based on your own numbers.
