Cottage Financing in Ontario: How I Found My Way Back to the Lake
This is my own cottage story, told in two short videos. It’s not a sales pitch. It’s the part of my life that taught me why I do this work.
Part 1: Losing the family cottage
When my mom died, we had to sell the cottage. If you grew up on a lake, you know it was never really about the building. It was the summers, the water, and the way lake kids grow up a little braver.
For years I told myself that renting a place and having a boat were close enough. Part two is the part I got completely wrong.
Part 2: The cottage I thought was gone for good
I had decided the cottage was something that happened to my family once, and that it was over. Then someone finally walked me through the numbers. The house we already owned had quietly been doing some work in the background, and nobody had ever explained that to me.
Six years later, we are still at the lake making the memories I wanted for Aksel. Who am I kidding, I wanted them for me too.
What’s the thing you quietly stopped asking for?
If it’s a cottage in Muskoka, Simcoe County or anywhere in Ontario cottage country, let’s look at your real numbers together, from the home you already own here in Barrie or nearby. Every situation is different, and a clear answer beats a guess.
